1.0      SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

           1.1     HEAD OF SCHOOL – EDUCATION  

  Job Purpose

To manage operations of the School of Education in order to provide quality training.

Key Responsibilities

·            Effective management and provision of training in the School of Education in order to produce qualified practitioners.

·            Effective management of research and consultancy in collaboration with industry.

·            Timely Supervision of the development of individual work plans and implementation of an annual performance appraisal system in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.

·            Effective management of financial, material, and human resources in order to facilitate the achievement of the school’s objectives.

·            Facilitates the school’s professional and academic linkages with relevant industries.

Minimum Qualifications

·         Masters Degree in the relevant field

·         A Qualification in Teaching Methodology and accreditation to TEVETA will be an added advantage

·         At least 8 years working experience in a supervisory position

·         Report writing skills

·         Good interpersonal skills

·         Computer Literacy in all office packages

·         People Management Skills

1.2 HEAD OF SCHOOL – MEDIA AND INFORMATION STUDIES

  Job Purpose

To manage operations of the School of Media and Information in order to provide quality training.

Key Responsibilities

·         Effective management and provision of Media and Information training in order to produce qualified practitioners.

·         Effective management of research and consultancy in collaboration with industry.

·         Timely Supervision of the development of individual work plans and implementation of an annual performance appraisal system in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.

·         Effective management of financial, material, and human resources in order to facilitate the achievement of the school’s objectives.

·         Facilitates the School’s professional and academic linkages with relevant industries. 

Minimum Qualifications

·         Masters Degree in Mass Communication or Journalism

·         A Qualification in Teaching Methodology and accreditation to TEVETA will be an added advantage

·         At least 8 years working experience in a supervisory position

·         Report writing skills

·         Good interpersonal skills

·         Computer Literacy in all office packages

·         People Management Skills

3.0       SCHOOL OF MEDIA AND INFORMATION STUDIES

            3.1     LECTURER IN DIGITAL MEDIA x 2

Main Duties

·         Undertakes the delivery of lectures in accordance with the curricula in order to impart knowledge to students

·         Undertakes student’s assessment, research supervision, industrial attachment assessment and maintenance of performance records in order to determine effectiveness of the level of lecturing

·         Prepares schemes of work and lesson plans in order to ensure efficient delivery of lectures

·         Prepares teaching aids and lecture materials in order to improve the effectiveness of lectures                                                                                        

·         Undertakes research and consultancy in Digital Media in order to contribute to the body of knowledge and promote best practice

·         Undertakes the development and review of appropriate syllabi in order to facilitate the delivery of the curricula 

Minimum Qualifications

·         BSc. in Creative Digital Media. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage

·         Qualification in Teaching Methodology and accreditation to TEVETA will be an added advantage

·         At least 2 years work experience in the Digital Media practice at a similar position

·         Computer literacy ( word, excel, power point packages)

·         Ability to work with minimum Supervision

·         Good interpersonal skills

·         A team player, good organizer, honest and highly professional
